CCP can't afford to do anything.
1) Player numbers would dive - although we are probably getting close to "rusted on" support 2) New players would not have any effective SP gain path other than being reamed over and over 3) Player retention would be even worse than now |

AFK is a small isolated problem. Just put in an inactive timer... how hard is it? It's taken over A YEAR, they must have got SOME sort of progress. Yes I agree, but finding a solution to idlers has been basically the Holy Grail of online game developers since last century.
I think you're asking too much.
The point being though, I don't think CCP dare. AFK is the game's PVE.
It's the paradox where CCP feel they must destroy the village to save it. |

This is probably the biggest nonsense I have seen so far on this forum. And believe me when I tell you that the competition is tough around here. You see.. Numbers do not decline when a game is fixed. Once a game gets better player numbers go up. Even the simplest of people understand this. Well riddle me this batman, they have released versions 1, 1.1 and 1.2 and player numbers are steadily declining regardless.
If your hypothesis is correct why would CCP not simply pulled the trigger to banish AFK?
Or is all you have consist of cheap personal slights?

Kasote Denzara wrote:I tried really hard to enjoy the game since the beta. I... can't. I just can't anymore. There used to be an unspoken code between people, you know. Protect one another, kill the enemy. It didn't matter about who got the kill back then.
I protect my comrades. I see someone darting across open land getting shot at, I'll sure as hell beam around that corner to lay down support fire. I've charged tanks and won for my team, only to be shot in the back. I suppose I'm too old fashioned for this sort of age of shooters.
This game would of excelled in the early 2000s. Well it's just about got the graphics nailed for that era, but I still sympathise with you your view.
Maybe time to try something else. |

Is it an oversight?
Or is this by design?
How is this even allowed past beta?
Is it gonna be changed?
If so how soon are we talking about? (Don't give me your SOON which means practically never) It's the best thing about this game the ability to still get rewards without playing this glob of depression. If they take out AFK I promise this game loses another 40% total population. I think this is the nut of it.
More fun simply not to play unfortunately. |

Well riddle me this batman, they have released versions 1, 1.1 and 1.2 and player numbers are steadily declining regardless. Well to start with it is high summer now and most people prefer to spend they-¦re time outside enjoying the sunshine rather than in front of a TV screen playing video games. Also.. there is no fun in playing a shooter with unbalanced teams. I-¦m not talking about being better or worse. I-¦m talking uneven numbers on both sides. AFKing makes this happen and while we have idiots doing this it hurts the game and therefore less will play it. This is really easy to understand. You still aren't explaining why they don't just fix it. |
